High Levels of Lactic Acid
I have suffered from this for 35 years.

She could be suffering from "PCD" (Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex Deficiency"). The lack of "PCD" enzyme prevents the body from breaking down simple carbohydrates for use of normal energy. This triggers the body to convert simple sugars into Lactic Acid, a less energy efficient and less powerful source of energy. Long term exposure to lactic acid has many effects and symptoms (a follow on conversation). Only a few hundred cases of "PCD" have been reported world wide. There is no cure only treatment today. 90% of the medical community knows very little about this disease.

I found that a high protein diet works great. However, a daily planned diet is needed as protein diets (complex-carbs) take longer times to digest for usable energy. You may want to try her on the "Ketogentic" diet. This should help greatly in reducing the Lactic Acid in her body.

Also, higher intakes of green foods increase alkalinity which can lower Acid levels in the body, creating a better PH balance in the body. You can have her take "green dietary supplements" to help increase the alkalinity in her body. "WHO" has done a lot of research in this area. If you want more information about this write back.

The bottom line is that she must reduce acids levels in here body.

Finally, a MD from Harvard recommended to me in taking "Alpha Lipoic Acid". Every living cell in the human body uses this to regulate the management, storage and use (burning) of energy. It was a miracle for me. It did not completely solve my problem, but improved my energy condition by 50%. For your general reference please go to the following link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_lipoic_ acid

I have more to share if you are interested. I can be reached at [email removed]. Hope this helps. RexC
