Hi,

Below is an extract of the MRI report for my right ankle. I would like to seek second opinion on whether surgery is necessary or is there any other treatment. thanks

"Normal configuration of the bones of the ankle /foot with intact osseous & articular structures. No osteochondral lesion seen.

There is no evidence of any bone oedema as seen in the T2 coronal with fat saturation. Normal joint fluid with no joint effusion seen.

Impression : Partial thickness tear within the lower third of the archilles tendon with a focal area of thinning. Surrounding soft tissue oedema.
Soft tissue oedema and swelling around the right ankle. "
