robin,
wow $102 seems so
high. I have cigna insurance and they
pay alot of it. I already paid my
yearly deductible of $50 for all
perscriptions for a year. I'm so glad
insurance covers it. I know I have
heard of people say that there insurance
won't pay for
seasonale.
well it worsk out to $34 a month. My old
one was $25-27 a mo. So its a little
more. Thankly for rx plan im probally
getting a little cheaper. I guess theres
no generic. My first pack was a sample
too thank god! I told my b.F every other
day he has to give me a dollar and I ll
put in dollar everyother day so at end of
3 months I dont have to lay out the money
I will already have it![/quote]
robin,
that sounds like a good idea about giving
you a dollar every day. I was on the
patch before seasonale and it was $15 a
month. I think its well worth the money
to not have a period. I hate them!!
Just think about the money your saving on
not having to buy pads/tampons..

yes that too. Esp. For people with heavy
periods. I didnt wear tampons too much..
A panty liner was all I ever really needed
most of time.If we were goin out at nite
on w.E. Or swimming or whatever I would
use tampons.. So for a few bucks more its
worth not to be incovienced every month!
So a dollar a day for 3mos ill have almost
the amountof $$ ill need when I go to
refill.
How did you like patch??? Any side
effects? What is is called?

Robin,
i was on the patch for about 7 or 8
months. The name of it is ortho-evra. I
did not like it at all. My cramps where
really bad. And once my period would
start it didn't want to stop. I gained
about 6 pounds while taking this. The
only good thing was that I went up a cup
size in my breast. That was great but the
other side affects where enough for me to
try another type of birth control.
Wow just a pantyliner
that would be so great!!!

i've been on seasonale for a little over 5
months now. For those first months I had
no break through bleeding, no cramps,
nothing. My period was light and didn't
give me any trouble at all. Just recently
i've started bleeding--just like you it
started out as spotting then went to light
bleeding. I don't know if it's break
through bleeding or not because it's been
like this for a little over 3 weeks now.
I'm starting to get concerned, and
wondering if I should contact my doctor or
not. I'm sorry but I don't really have
any advice because in a way, i'm sort of
going through what your going through. If
your bleeding has stopped or something,
please tell me. Maybe mine will stop soon
too.

Smoking On Seasonale Posted: 05-05-05 16:20pm
I'm a smoker. I just inquired about
switching to seasonale (i'm currently on
yasmin) and my doctor told me if I did
switch, i'd have to quit. Now, I know I
should, but i'm just not ready to. I
don't see how smoking on seasonale is any
different than smoking on any other pill.
Does anyone else on seasonal smoke?
Does anyone have any information on why
this would be worse?

[i'm glad i'm not the only one that is
having weird moods. I'm starting to feel
like a whole different person.>
this is what is happening to me. I seem
to have more energy but i'm also more
aggressive. I'm not my old self, but I
feel great. I just need to get used to
this side of me I guess?

have you thought about depo? I had no
period with it- mood swings and weight
gain though, so it depends on what you are
willing to tolerate... If not having a
period is your primary goal, it may be
something to try!

Teens And Seasonale Posted: 06-04-05 08:45am
My 16 year old switched to seasonale in
january from conventional pills she was
taking because the idea of 4 periods a
year was attractive to her. She takes the
pill to regulate her period which is too
recurrent and heavy without the pill
(about every two weeks)- her father and I
have been dealing with what we thought was
teen behavior becoming extreme- rude,
moody, depressed, angry- and she has also
been getting into squabbles with kids at
school- we realized yesterday that maybe
the escalation of this was linked to the
seasonale- timing was certainly right-
we'll be calling the doctor on monday to
check it out, but would like to know if
anyone has a similar experience or some
insights- she's not involved in any high
risk behavior or trouble, is an honors
student but with a godzilla personality-
help!!!

Hey,
I have been on seasonale for almost a year
now. But my first atleast 2-3 months I had
break through bleeding for atleast 2
months, and it was really frustrating,
then getting my period just made it more
annoying. But after I started my next
three months of pills didnt have any
bleeding until the last two weeks before
my next period. But now since being on it
for almost a year I love it. Have very
light periods now and really helps to
clear up my skin. It really beats having a
period every months. Its so expsensive but
def. worth it.

Seasonale is advisable to you if you are
looking for extended menstrual cycles
after every 4 months i.e 3 in a year. If
you take it regularly, you will be fine
and not get break-throughs. You can also
try Seasonique, which is advanced
extended-cycle pills. Let me tell you to
visit at
mybirthcontrolstore.com/seasonale.html
&
mybirthcontrolstore.com/seasonique.html to
know more about these pills.
