Hi.I have been trying to find out any information I can find about this. I am 38 years old and had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. I was discharged 2 days post op, landed back in ER the next day. I was having severe pain to the genital area, and pressure in my abdomen. The gynecologist I saw that day did a physical, said he had no idea what the 2 inch by 2 inch white swollen area on my labia/ groin was, and suggested I follow up with the gynecologist who did the surgery. 2 days later I sat in my gyne. office who informed me he had been contacted by by the doctor I had seen in ER, and the problem was that I had a burn caused by the surgery. By now, I had also developed an abscess. I ended up on pain medication, steroidal cream, and strong antibiotics. I had not been examined during my hospital stay by anyone...had I been, I believe the burn would have been detected, and treatment initiated. It is now going on 3 weeks post op, I feel miserable; the burn isn't healing, but continuing to drain, is very sore, and I feel very unwell. Has anyone had a similar experience? I would love to hear from you...
