my 16 year old son and his girlfriend were just horsing around, and she tried to give him a "hickey" on his back, but when she sucked on his skin for only a couple of seconds, he began to bleed. This freaked them out, so they came and showed me....she sucked on his forarm for about three seconds, and it actually bled! when we wiped away the blood, there was no mark whatsoever!! She did it again on his shoulder, and it happened again. My son was diognosed with chronic mono a month or so ago, but as far as I know, he has no other condition. I'm very concerned, but his dad very rarily lets me take him to the Dr. Should I persist. Is this something normal, or could this be something serious? Please respond!

it could be his girlfriend who has the problem. the roof of her mouth may be sensitive and bleeds when pressure is put on it. has anyone else tried sucking his skin to see if it still happens?

the following is my question the other day, and your response, which I appreciate very much. Your response was exactly what I thought of too, so I made him try it on himself, and sure enough, no blood. I also had the girlfriend do it on her arm too, and there was nothing. I've never seen this before, and like I said before, he's had mono for about 4 months, what the Dr. said was "chronic mono", so I'm hoping this isn't a complication from that. If you've ever heard of anything like this please let me know. I also mentioned before that his father refuses to ever let me take him to the Dr, but if this could be serious, I will anyway (that was how we found out about the mono). Thank you for your response.
