Chest Pain

I have been suffering from anxiety for approximately 5-6 years. I had anxiety attacks a couple times a week, up until about 3 years ago when they stopped. The attacks have been non-existant since then, although the anxiety still appears to be there. Around a month ago, i started getting an extreme tightening, and feeling like my heart was dropping out of my chest, in general severe pain, along with shortness of breath, even when resting, accompanied with dizzineess when I stood up. I dealt with it pretty much all night, assuming it was my anxiety, then when it worsened the next day I went to the ER. After several tests, (EKG, CAT scan, eco-cardiogram, but no stress test), they told me everything was ok and that it would wear off. This gradually wore off over the course of about 7 days, then all of the sudden it disappeared as fast and as suddenly as it started. I was fine till approximately 3 days ago, when, while resting on the couch, it returned, in a much less severe state. It has been wearing off ever since, but is still there going on 5 days now. Note: they shortness of breath tends to worsen after eating a meal; I have also suffered an extreme loss of appetite, going from 3 full meals a day with snacks at night to when the symptoms start eating a few bites at breakfast on Tuesday and not eating again till Wednesday night or Thursday morning when the symptoms are occuring. I realize this was very long and I apologize, but I am very concerned and seeking help on this. Thank you to anyone that can help.

I urge you to see a doctor and have a complete workup.

It may well be anxiety/stress related, but the first course of action should always be to rule out other physical problems.

Best wishes
