binge eating disorders Posted: 06-14-07 00:07am
I have always had a hard time not binge
eating. I became bulimic when i was 17 and
threw up almost daily until i achieved my
ideal weight. When i started to get big
agian i continuted throwing up. About a
year ago i became seriously worried about
my bulimia and attempted to stop. I went
from throwing up after every meal to
throwing up only after bingeing. Since
then i have almost completly stopped
throwing up. I will do it ever once in a
while after i eat a ton of food.(every
once in a while is every couple of weeks..
is that still to often?)But my biggest
problem now is that while ive mostly
stoped throwing up i am constantly
bingeing and eating a ton of food. I have
gained about 40 pounds since i stopped
throwing up and im scared if i dont get my
bingeing under control ill start throwing
up agian. I've tried reading when i get
hungry or doing puzzles walking talking on
the phone everything. But eventually ill
go in there for a small snack or lunch or
whatever and end up eating for a solid
hour. Can anyone please help me? Also
being a male this disorder has all but
destryoed my confidence. The confidence i
did have left was wiped clean by my weight
gain. Please someone give me some advise
on maybe medicine that can help me curve
my appitete or anything else that you
might think will help
I think the best help would be
professional, anytime u make yourself
throw up isnt good for you. One of those
times you could vomit and your heart could
stop. Im not trying to scare you just
telling you the seriousness of the
disease, binge eating as well isnt healthy
either. I dont think theres a cure all
medicine to curb your apetite, I think you
would benefit seeing a therapist to get to
the root of why u purged to begin with
and the thoughts and feelins surrounding
your binging episodes, you have to start
from the root of the problem to solve it.
hope i helped a little bit.
