A lot of people have really crazy periods, sometimes weeks of bleeding. Other people just don't bleed to for a few months, then all of a sudden get their regular period back. It's a little bit different for everyone.

It also might take a while to conceive.

You should also talk to your doctor about your bones as Depo can cause irreversible bone loss.

Post Side Effects of DepoVera after discontinuation of use
my first and only shot of depovera was last march which was effective till june. i had bleeding practically the whole time it was in effect. after june 4 (its expiration) or thereabouts, the bleeding stopped. now it's already the 2nd week of August but still i do not have my period back. is it normal? i had some "spotting" 2 weeks ago which was just for about 2 days. i did the home pregnancy test kit 2 days ago, and i'm not pregnant. do i need to re-check again with a doctor this time? or is it just normal for period/s to stop for awhile? i did not use depovera for long, only once.
thanks!

im 17 and i just got my second shot in august of '09 and have had a 'period' since then and it never goes away. i'm also moody all the time, and have irritation during sex. my next shot is supposed to be in 2 weeks. help. are these sympotoms related to the shot? whats a better method of birth control that is easy and affective?
