Q: Throat cancer ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 13th, 2007
For about 2-3 months now i have had the feeling of food getting stuck in the back of my throat underneath my tonsils, its small pieces of food that get stuck like crumbs from digestive biscuits or bits of peanut, my mum says the bits are just getting stuck in my gullet, the feeling started when my contraceptive pill got stuck in my throat, it was so annoying. So i decided to stick my finger down there to see what i could feel and to my shock i felt not a lump but a wierd shaped flappy thing quite thick it is that i have never felt before. I am really scared that it might be cancer, i will go to my GP but i cant sleep right now i will make an appointment asap. Please could you tell me what it is, and please dont say cancer.

It is very hard to diagnose the problem with your throat without a visual examination. If you really feel that you have something in your throat then you can go to your primary health provider for an examination. Then, your GP can send you to an ENT-specialist if necessary.
