I was diagnosed about 2 years ago with this condition (high levels of iron). Females normally don't get this because our periods are suppose to take care of the excess. I went to the doctors yesterday and it sits at 19 I guess my question is what should I do now. I have read and understand that 20 is at a high level and could cause stroke, heart problems, liver damage, etc. Can someone please help me?

Hi im not sure if im going to be much of a help but my grandpa was diagnosed with this last year so I did a little research online & it said something about going to the blood bank once a month and have blood taken as obviously your losing blood so your losing some iron as well. Did you know it also runs in families maybe its a good idea to get your family tested for it. I thought I might've had it but it turns out Im running quite low on iron. Your doctor should've told you a course of action anyway. I hope that helps a bit take care of yourself Smile
