Q: Question About Green Tea ???

So I know that when you are ttc, that you should really limit the amount of Caffine that you consume. Also I know that it is a good idea to drink green tea, because of the anti-oxident that it provides. So I have started drinking a cup of green tea everymorning instead of coffee.

My question is...Does anyone think it would be better if I switched to decaf green tea so that I could cut the caffine out as well?

I am willing to give it a shot, but frankly I am scared that I won't be able to function without my morning jolt to get me going in the mornings.

Opinions????

My doctor said 1-2 cups (8 oz) of caffienated drinks per day is fine, Before and during pregnancy. I would say it wouldnt hurt you to stick to the regular green tea. I am a diet coke drinker and I dont think I will ever be able to cut it out completely. But I am going to try and switch to something more natural like coffee or tea too.

I have also read that drinking green tea is good for your uterus. "They" recommend drinking 2 - 3 cups daily. The study I read about actually was based on caffeinated green tea. I also read that red-raspberry leaf tea is good for boosting fertility. I try to drink at least 1 cup of green organic tea daily. cheers....

Maybe you could slowly wean yourself of the caffeine. It would be alot easier that just cold turkey. You could start by drinking 3/4 caffeinated tea and 1/4 de-caffeinated tea. And just slowly work yourself down. Then, on those mornings when you need a pick-me-up drink a full cup of the regular. Just an idea..

Thats what I did with coffee when I stopped the caffeine before. I would buy a pound of regular and a pound of decaf and mix them up. I Think that I might get some decaf green tea and keep that at work and just use up my regular green tea at home in the mornings. I am going to limit it to just one cup before I go to work and if I think I need more, then I can just go for the decaf.

I think I have a huge fear of getting off caffeine all together...I am just so used to drinking it in the mornings to get me going.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions!!!
