I practice martial arts and stretch a few times a week. I stretch from 15-20 before working out and about 10 afterwards. When I stretch i push myself as far as I can go and then a little more to hopefully make gains. I am aware of overdoing it and tearing muscle fibers as I have done this in the past on infrequent occasions.

The thing i notice is after a good day of stretching, I am dramatically more tense the next day when I stretch. About 30% loss of static flexibility. With muscle building, i know you need to rest between sessions to make gains. Would i make faster gains stretching everyday and working through the losses after a good hard day or staggering the days I stretch to account for healing?

Does anyone have personal experience or advanced knowledge on the the matter, and not just conjectures? I already have the speculation part covered. Thanks in advance.
Ricky
