Marijuana is not legal in any state. Federal regulations trump those of any state, period.

Then why can hospitals prescribe marijuana? Why, if stopped in a car in possession of marijuana, can you show a prescription and not be arrested? It's because state law is NOT trumped by federal law. States have individual laws because that's what our entire nation was founded on: state's rights!!

BS. Obviously you are not aware of constitutional law. The regulation of illicit drugs was passed by the US Congress on several occasions and has been ratified by the Supreme Court on many occasions. That is why marijuana shops are shutting down in California because of pressure by the Feds. The Supreme Court is the final abitrator of whose right it is to regulate a product or service and they have come down firmly on the side of Federal law. The fact that some state officials are violating federal law does not negate federal law. Their day of judgement will come.

I talked to my Dad, and he has confirmed that the federal law trumps it. I personally think that's absolutely ridiculous. State laws are there for a reason. I think marijuana should be legal for medical use - at least. Yet I am not a pot-head. I still think it's pretty dumb to smoke pot and I don't think highly of my local friends and aquaintances who do it. I also don't think highly of people who drink often. But it's legal, and I myself drink on very rare occasions.

Speaking from first hand knowledge, I have been to medical marijuana clinics in San Francisco and L.A. and when they do close one down, no one is arrested, the pot is confiscated and that doesn't happen that often. There are still many Medical Marijuana Clinics in California and elsewhere. I get medical marijuana myself and am very thankful and great full that it is available to me . So tell me, a cigarette is nothing but cancer in a stick and that is perfectly legal all over the world...does that make it OK just because some men in suites say it is legal and there fore OK and morally right??.....go figure!

The fact is: "Medical marijuana" is being used as a shill for those that have no demonstrably treatable condition and is simply being used for the purpose of getting high. California and Oregon have pot clinics that are effectively being abused by those without cancer, HIV, or glaucoma as a way to obtain marijuana. The day of judgement is from the federal government...not me....I really dont care if pot smokers get their precious drug cut off since the evidence of effectiveness is nearly all anecdotal. There is very little medical evidence that the drug works any better than what is already available. Case reports of those getting stoned and feeling better are simply not relevant.

Seriously man... chill!! I don't even LIKE people using MJ but I'm not all like... jumping at them for doing so. Did you ever consider the idea that clinical studies haven't been done because of people like you screaming down everyone's throats that marijuana is bad? We could get some proof if you'd just chill the heck out. Smoking weed can't be any more harmful than smoking a cig, since marijuana doesn't have anything crappy added to it, unlike cigarettes. So go bash on the tobacco industry, kay?
