Hey, I am 19 years old and I was wondering how likely it is for someone in my situation to have colon cancer. I have a great grandparent on my mother and fathers side who have had colon cancer. I have for the past 4 or 5 months have been noticing blood in my stool. At first I ignored it mostly because I found it embarrasing to talk to anyone about. Recently I have noticed the bleeding to be heavier. I've also felt extreamly tired for the past couple months, sleeping over 14 hours a day sometimes. I have constant stomach pains and find myself feeling like I have to go to the bathroom almost constantly. Only that when I try to go I find myself constapated. Can someone please offer me some advice and information?

i am 18 and have the exact same thing!!! Probably best to go to the doctor and get it checked out since blood in the stool is not good. I am in the process of this, hope it all works out well for you.

Colon Cancer
I am 16 and have the exact same symptoms but with a lot of pain in my abdomen especially whenever I try to go to the bathroom. Apparently it is very rare for people under 50 to get colon cancer, since 90% of cases are in people over 50. I know I have IBS (which I'm convinced the doctors just tell you because they have no idea how to fix you and IBS has no cure), but blood in your stool is not a symptom of IBS and is always associated with something bad. Now, I'm very cautious of all my symptoms, but if I were you, I would go to your doctor and get a screening done just in case.
