Q: Depo-vero Shot And Getting Pregnant

Hi everyone. I need some advice and suggestions.

I have been on the depo shot for four years. I stopped taking it in Novemeber. My boyfriend and I are ready to try and get pregnant. I am very afraid that I wont be able to get pregnant. I have heard that it can take up to a year to conceive after taking the shot.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with this? Question

Welcome to .ehealth!

Yes, it can take that long to conceive after the shot. But that is not always the case. Since you have been off the shot, have your cycles come back? If so, are they regular?

Yes I had my first real cycle this past week. Since November it has ben so unpredictable. I wish I would have never taken it. I bled for a month straight in January and in the past month I have "started" three times.

It has been hard

THat is actually what can cause you to take so long to become pregnant. It is much more difficult to figure out when you are fertile if you are irregular. (trust me, I know how frustrating that can be). I suggest that you chart your basal body temperature. (bbt). You can google it and find some great sites that help you chart. It will give you a great insite to what your body is doing.

In the meantime, you should stick around. Wink
