A little history: I'm a 36 year old male, never injured my back or had any issues before. I'm in good shape but a little heavy at 5'9 275 pounds.
I’ve had some ‘minor’ lower back soreness for a while. It seems in certain positions or after exercise that I have a little pinch in my lower back. After this occurs my back is usually a little stiff for the next couple of hours.
Saturday something happened that I’ve never experienced before. I was watering flower beds in my yard, I leaned forward a little bit and what happened next is tough to explain. It was as if there was a flash in my lower back, almost like I was leaning back against an electric fence. It was an incredibly intense sensation (not really painful) that seemed to last for a couple of seconds. When the sensation (or flash as I call it) was gone I found myself in a lot of pain and unable to move. After a couple of minutes I was able to stretch out of it and gradually move. I have been in a constant state of moderate pain since this occurred. At times if I twist or try to move too fast I get a much sharper jolt of pain. But what has been most frustrating is that I find it very difficult to move. Especially when I have been in anyone position for any length of time. For example it took me almost 30 minutes to get out of bed this morning. And if I sit down for more than 20 minutes at a time, it is hard to get up.
In your opinion, what do you think it could be? What should I do?
Thanks in advance guys!
