ive been on yaz for about 6 months and i really liked it...at first. ive experienced no weight gain and my boobs are significantly larger. my skin if perfectly clear and smooth and my periods are light, regular, and pain free.
HOWEVER, i have never been so emotional in my life. i cry over EVERYTHING, when im happy, im so happy i almost fall over. and when im mad i go insane, scream, rip out my hair, i even hit, choked, bit, and scratched my husband. this is not like me at all. ive always been in control but now i feel like i cant control myself at all. my husband is even considering divorce because he cant handle how crazy and psycho im becoming. also, ive noticed significant hair loss. im stopping my prescription once i finish this pack next week.

BE WEARY OF YAZ
I too took Yaz in July for 14 days. Unfortunately, that's all it took for Yaz to take me down. I am a non smoking healthy 38 year old woman with no history of health problems. I excercise and am in good health. I was hospitalized after just 14 days of taking this pill with Multiple Pulmonary Embolisms. For those of you who don't know this term this means multiple blood clots in both lungs. I was totally caught off guard. I went into the ER with chest pains and trouble breathing and found out that I was a ticking time bomb and it only happened in two weeks. Ouch! I am only sharing this information because I do feel this pill needs to be taken off the market. It is a very dangerous drug with damaging effects. Now I have a damaged lung and have to be on Coumadin for a minimum of 6-9 months. Every week I have to go and get my INR levels checked through my blood. I have to be monitored by a hematologist and pulmonologist . My life has changed drastically. WHATEVER YOU DO PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS MEDICINE.

yaz birth control pill
I started taking the Yaz pill in 2/09 and with in a few weeks I had severe trouble walking. I had red lumps pop up all over both legs and feet. I got to the point where I could hardly get out of bed. I went to my internal medicine doctor and they did blood work and chest xray and found nothing. They told me to quit taking the pill and in just a few days my pain slowly started going away. I was not told by my ob/gyn of any side effects with this pill. I was taking the pill for premenopause reasons and to regulate my cycles. My internal medicine doctor said that she has seen these symtoms before with this kind of birth control pill. The pill was attacking my muscular system. Thank goodness I only was on it for a short time. Please let me know if any of you have had the same problem.

Wow, I just read this site because I just started taking Yaz about 13 days ago, I have been feeling weird, dizzy, and queasy. Actually I feel pregnant (and I know I'm not) and my breasts are so tender I could cry. My chest has been feeling heavy and my legs started cramping a few days ago. I am stopping this pill today and hopefully nothing else will happen to me....I am worried with all these posts about blood clots. I am 29 and I had been on Tri cyclen until about 5 years ago when we started having children. I have NEVER felt like this because of BC before!

All birth control pills can cause clots. It's in the warnings on all of them and is pretty much common knowledge. There is no magic BC pill that will not have possible serious side effects. You're messing with your hormones and altering things in your body...so pay attention to the warning signs and listen to your body. I've been on Yaz for over a year and have not had any serious side effects. I started taking it because of imbalances and the severe bleeding I was having during my normal periods. I've already had 3 children and am 35, not athletic and exercise way less than I should - so sounds like I'm prime embolism material. I'll keep an eye out for symptoms as always, but 40-50 women in a lawsuit in an entire country of millions of women using Yaz is not going to really make me stop using it right now. I know healthy, athletic people who are not on Yaz who have had pulmonary emboli - so it can happen for plenty of other reasons too.

Yes all Birth Control pills come with the warning of they might cause blod clots. But the fact is Yaz/Yasmin is causing above average side effects and to many blod clots and Pulmonary Embolism in women of all ages that were in good health.I know because I'm one of them .If you aren't having any side effects thats well and good I'm happy for you all, but don't rag on people who have experienced life threatening conditions and the only thing they can contribute it to is Yaz BC. I wake up out of my sleep at night with chest pains like I'm having A heart attack and I had my PE over two years ago.I still have leg pains, bad headaches ,sharp pains under my left arm that runs thru my upper shoulder blade. I went from going to the Dr. for my annual paps smear to every couple of months because now Im scared to ignore my pain for to long. The lung specialist said I was very lucky when I had my PE in my left lung I couldn't breath nor could I move my left upper torso I had to be put on steroids stayed in the hospital 7 days so I take this matter about Yaz BC very serious if you start experiencing the mood swings, insomnia, anger and poor sex drive get off of yaz a blod clot is somewhere waiting in the near future.

i'm on yaz right now. i'm 19, in great shape and have been on yaz for about a year. over the last 3 months i have started to get migraines, dizzy spells, mood swings, worsened anxiety (i'm already on meds for that), and i've been sick for the past 3 months as well (sore throat, etc). yaz was great for the first 6 months or so and after that it just all went downhill. now i'm going to the ob to find another pill, the new side effects of yaz just aren't worth it.
