I have had a full abdominal hysterectomy 2 weeks ago today. I have had a reddish-brown staining from Tuesday(1 week 2 days after op) and although I was seem by my consultant and he said that I was ok, I did not expect the 'bleeding' to continue for so long. Can anyone tell me whether this is normal or not? Apart from this I feel like a new woman and the size of my womb with fibroids was conpared to a baby's head when removed. I have a flat stomach now and am a little lighter. I just wish the 'staining/bleeding' would stop. I have really been doing nothing before the staining and I am doing even less now as I am scared that I may have to go back into hosptal.........

My vaginal hysterectomy/removal of ovaries was 3 1/2 weeks ago now and I am also bleeding. Some of it has been the staining you talk about and now there is some regular bleeding. I've already been in twice and each time told I'm ok. SO I guess maybe this is normal.
I'm concerned as well and need to be preparing to return to school soon. I'm a teacher and do not want to go back with all this bleeding going on.
I'm ready for that problem to be GONE.

Hang in there.

Linda
