hi, so im new and im not quite sure if this is where i should be but i have a question about birth control (obviously).

so i just got birth control from my doctor andhe told me to start taking it right away, and i read the instructions and all that and now im confused. it says to start on sunday and bla bla, todays friday. its a 28 day pack, so do i start with friday, or should i start from the begining of the pack and take sundays pill?

this sounds stupid but im new to this. thanks.

Well if your doc said start today then take the first pill in the pack today. (Even if it says Sunday)

There should be stickers in the instructions or somewhere in the packaging with the days of the week on it. You can use those stickers to cover up the ones on the package so that it starts on Friday. (Does that make sense?) If you didn't get any stickers, then you can use a marker or something so you know which day you started on.

The only reason it is labeled with Sunday to start is to help you remember to take each one and so you know if you missed one. You can still take the Sunday one now, just know that it is really a Friday one and re-label the package.

They are the ones at the end? They are the placebo pills. They don't have any hormones in them, and while you are taking them you should get your period. But even if you don't get your period (you might not at first), or it's not over by the time you are done with the green ones, you should still start the next pack of pills right after you finish the green ones.

So always take all of the pills in order, one a day. And your period should come while you are taking the green ones, but it might take a couple months for that to happen.

Since the green pills don't have any medicine in them, you don't actually have to take them. They are just reminders so you don't get off schedule. But I take mine because I know I would get confused if I didn't. Wink
