Q: Return Attack After 20 Years??

Hi, I was diagnosed with herpes when I ws 17 (my 1st boyfriend!). I did suffer on and off for some years, often stress affected. However, I had a recent attack after not having any for years (its now 20 years since diagnosis), I thought it was supposed to burn itself out after approximately 7ish years>

Active User, very eHealthy

From what I know about herpes, once one contracted it, it stays for life. The first time is the most painful, subsequently is not as bad as the first time.
