Optic neuritis is the most common manifestation of multiple sclerosis (MS). But MS has to be proven with a CT or MRI scan of the brain and with a lumbar punition. If there are no plaques seen on the CT/MRI scans and lumbar punition is negative.... then it is very hard to say what is going on. You can consult an ophthalmologist and a neurologist for an expert opinion, diagnostic procedures, and advice.
