Q: Viral Orchitis - Not Going Away - Help? Advice?

I was diagnosed with viral orchitis (urologist thinks it was a result of the mumps virus although I never exhibited any of the mumps symptoms).

This was originaly diagnosed in the beginning of February. I had a urinalysis performed at both of my visits and both were negative (doctor said there was no bacterial infection - but didn't specify exactly what they look for).

I am not that sexually active and certain it was not STD or bacterial related.

It's going on 4 months now since I originally started experiencing the pain and while it has greatly subsided, I still feel occasional pain and uncomfort. There are no specific activites, food, drink, etc. that seem to cause the pain to come back.

So the question:

For anyone that has experienced this, how long should it take to completely go away? The urologist said while my healing time is longer then expected it is normal but aside from the same general advice (rest, plenty of water, pain reliever, etc) there isn't much I can do.

I am about at the point of looking for another urologist. While I haven't been able to find much information online as to how long this should last, what little I did find, seemed to only last from a couple of days to a couple of weeks - nothing close to a couple of months.

Thanks!
John
