I amd 19 years old and about a year ago i
posted about how i was scared about colon
cancer and that i had blood in my stool
after being constipated for a week and
straining to try and go every day i was
constipated. Now, a year later I am still
having the same blood in my stool, it
hasnt changed at all and up until now that
was the only thing abnormal about my
stool. I went pretty regularly, and the
size was normal etc. Lately I have had
pretty thin stools, but sometimes they're
thicker than others. They have also been
kind of feathery and not hard, but not
watery at all. I have been having awful
heartburn and indigestion and its been
pretty miserable. My family doesn't have
a history of any kind of cancer really,
but they do have some general GI issues
like IBS and Ulcers, etc. I feel like i
am more tired than usual, but i am
wondering if that is just depression over
not knowing whats wrong is me and being
scared to find out because when im doing
stuff and hanging out with people i feel
fine. Someone please give me an idea of
waht might be wrong with me!

Hi kk1287.
It sounds like you really need to see a GI
doctor. I am 54 and found out I had colon
cancer back in July 2005. Like you, I had
bleeding in my stools, but figured it was
hemorrhoids Wrong! The GI doctor did a
colonoscopy and found out that I had colon
cancer. I had about a foot of my colon
taken out and then chemotherapy. Then in
December 2006 they found a tumor in my
liver which means that the cancer had
metastied. It was taken out - with clean
margin.
These cancer terms are not ones you want
to be come familiar with out of
necessity.
Get checked out for piece of mind.
God Bless You kk - You have a wonderful
full life ahead of you.
