Morning erections gone : sign of nerve damage to penis ? Posted: 06-04-07 20:46pm
I injured my penis about two months ago,
by applying a traction force.
I was stretching the penis by holding the
glans with my thumb and index, and
relaxing it right after. I did this for
five minutes. Then I feel something
"weird". When I let go my penis, it
shrinks and gets hard.
I went to a hospital where the urologist
run ultrasound scans, saying there is
nothing that he could detect.
I had a mild E. D. after that the first
week, improving slowly until now. 2 months
later, when I feel I am very close to the
way I was before the injury.
I have been to the best urologist I could
find. He examined me, and ran ultrasound
scans, and he thinks whatever there might
have been, it is already cured.
My question is the following: I used to
have strong morning erections almost every
day, that lasted until I urinated.
Now I do not have then anymore, and it
worries me. Is it possible that I am not
as healthy as I was before? Is it a sign
of nerve damage?
Best regards,
P. A.

There are many reasons for erectile
dysfunction, among them are injuries of
the spinal cord or pelvic trauma because
these injuries can interrupt the transfer
of nerve impulses to the penis. As none of
these areas has been injured, it doesn't
seem that erectile dysfunction is due to
the traction or nerve injury in your case.
Another cause for erectile dysfunction may
be depression, worry, anxiety or stress.
You might consult your urologist for more
advice.
