I feel your pain. My son is almost 4 months old and we have the hardest time getting him to sleep in the crib. In the beginning we let him sleep in the swing because he wouldn't sleep in his crib at all..but the swing broke! So we had a few days without it before it got fixed and took that as a perfect time to break him of the swing habit. I would say thats probably one thing you want to get him out of because eventually he'll get to big for the swing! Since that we've tried very hard to get him in his crib. I could never figure out why he won't sleep there, I wondered if he was cold, if the bed was to hard, if he was hungry..I made sure he was fed, gave him a blanket, I put a blanket under him so it was more comfy, I even bought one of those music things for in his crib and nothing worked. We share a room so for a few weeks I even took the rail off of him crib, lowered the matress and moved it right next to my bed so that he thought he was in my bed (don't worry he can't roll and the small gap was covered so there was no hazzard of him falling) this seemed to work and i thought he was used to the crib but as soon as I moved the crib back he stopped sleeping in it.
But enough rambling about my problem... Now we have him to the point where we can get him to sleep in the crib the first part of the night but once he wakes up he is with me the other part. We just rock him to sleep (my son won't put himself to sleep either) and then lay him down in the crib. If he wakes we have his binky there and put it in and pat his bottom until he falls back asleep, we don't talk to him or pick him up. Its usually works for naps to.
I don't have any extrodinary advice but if you ever solve the sleeping problem let me know!!! I long for the days when I can lay Brayden down and he will put himself to sleep for the entire night!!!!
