I'm 13 years old and the other day I was trying on my dress for the semi-formal dance that the 8th graders have at my school. I hadn't taken the tags off yet, and my back was itching like crazy. I went to itch my back, and noticed that in one small area I still itched and couldn't feel myself scratching. Kind of freaked out, I went into my mom and dads room to look into their double mirror thing (so I could check my back to see if I had a rash or something). I didn't, my back looked perfectly normal, and I was starting to wonder if I was just imagining it. When I touched to spot on my back with my fingers, I couldn't tell if I could feel my fingers with my back, or if I could just feel my back with my fingers (if you got that). To see if I really couldn't feel anything on that spot, I picked up a cold belt lying on the floor and dragged it around my back. I couldn't feel the coldness over the 'numbspot' on my back. Starting to get really scared, I went downstairs and told my parents. My mom looked at my back and couldn't see anything. My dad said that there was probably nothing wrong with me and that he and my mom probably had spots on their back where they couldn't feel anything either.
So I didn't really think about it to much for the rest of the night. The next morning, the spot felt bigger, but I wasn't completely sure. To get an idea of where this numbspot went to, I scratched all along my spine to make sure I could feel stuff there. I could feel everything along my spine and about an inch off of either side of it. It's been a day since I itched my spine and found out that I could feel all of it. However, about 10 minutes ago, when I went to see if I could still feel this numbspot, I found out that it has spread over to my spine, grown significantly, and I'm definitely not imagining it. If I touch this pretty large part of my upper-ish back, I can't feel anything. I'm scared.
