I take my birth control pill everyday at the same time or close to the same time. I could be off as much as 15 minutes some times but not everytime I take the pill. Does it really matter how late I take the pill for it not to be effective? (minutes not hrs)

A few minutes here and there will not decrease the effectiveness of your pill. It's when you're a few hours late that you can run into trouble.

Agreed, as long as it is a typical pill, and not a progestin-only pill. If it is (a mini pill) than you have to be really careful about time.
