Q: Continuously Skipping Placebos

For about 4 or 5 months now i've been skipping my placebo pills & heading straight to a new pill pack for the purpose of skipping my period. Is this going to harm my body in any way if I keep doing this? I plan to wait for my period regularly next month. Not having one has just been great though i must admit, because unfortuneately mine still brings the bad cramps & backaches along with it.

I did this for a year. I didn't have any health problems but I cant say that you won't though. I enjoyed not having a period also! Wish I could be more help to you. If you don't want a period maybe you should try the depo shot or the pills that you only have 3 or 4 periods a year. I forget the name of it.

Many women do what you are doing with no problems. However, you could ask your ob-gyn more about it just in case.

Have you talked to your ob-gyn about the pill that causes many women to have no period at all? I would tell her that you have been skipping the placebos and see what she recommends and thinks is the safest way to go about not having a period.

You can look into Depo, but I would not recommend it. Some women have even more bleeding on Depo. Also, it has some really awful side effects and can actually cause irreversible damage to your body.

Yeah, there really is no reason to worry about it- the only thing is that when you do get your period, it might be worse than normal. Maybe talk to your doc about switching to seasonale or seasonique becuase they are meant for this purpose.
