Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Forum - Sudden Loss of Hearing One Ear

i'm 29 years old,female,healthy
I experienced sudden loss of hearing in my left,4 days ago.
My ENT put me on an oral 10 day course of cortisone,which I started taking straight away.
No MRI was done,only an auditory test - explaining mixed hearing loss middle and inner ear

I'm traumatised by this,I feel so helpless.

How long is this expected to last?

I'd really appreciate any positive information.
