I started menopause at age 48, I am now 59 and I am still going thru it. When I started I went on premarin for the hot flashes they were so horrible. In the last year I have gone off premarin 3 times and the hot flashes resume, this last time I was off 3 mos until I couldn't take the flashes anymore so I started backup yesterday. Why do I after so long still get hot flashes when I try to go off the premarin.

Adriean, It is not uncommon for some women to have hot flashes uo to and beyond 10 years. Have you ever tired some of the over the counter remedies to see if they work.? My sister uses black cohosh and she says it helps her a lot. I know there are a few items on the market now that contain black cohosh.. Good Luck
