Q: Abortion
asked by: Lexi17 on February 26th, 2004

Hi, my name is lexi, I am 17, I recently had an abortion and I regret it. I debated about it for a long time, and when I finally decided, I was pretty far along. I know that so many of you are against abortion, but I just wanted you all to hear from a person’s point of view who have had one. I had a surgical abortion, I was in the hospital for 2 days and am still recovering. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

I was 20 weeks, I didn't chose adoption because the father refused to sign anything and my parents were ashamed of me being pregnant to begin with, they had me hide it.

I don't know how anyone could go through with an abortion at all let alone at 20 weeks...That's halfway through the pregnancy. You obviously regret what you've done, but I still don't understand why because no one can force you to have one. I don't know this is a touchy topic

It makes me sad...Incredibly sad. There are so many people who can't have children or who have lost children and you have this beautiful miracle who is alive and swimming around and...Ugh I don't even want to think about it

Listen I know I did something terrible and I regret it, but my daughter is now with god and she is safe there with him! I know that you all probably hate me, but I didn’t know what to do.

I don't hate you not at all. And I don't mean to judge you but in light of a recent miscarriage I had this topic is incredibly touchy. Your daughter could have been safe in your arms as well. They don't even do abortions here at 20 weeks it's illegal. You have up until 12 weeks then after that too bad you have to go through the pregnancy.

I don't really think this is a good place for you to talk about this! Please go to the "abortion" forum. I don't mean to be rude but there are emotional pregnant women here and I don't appreciate you coming here.

Well all I can say is you dont have us to deal with. I hope your ok with what you did. Be safe and try not to have any more kids. People try all the time and never get one and here you took that for granted.

You don’t understand, I don’t know how to deal with this at all. I need help. When I told my parents my dad told me that they would kick me out and I would never be welcome again. My boyfriend told me that I was a spoiled little rich girl and I would be lost without him and my father’s money. And he was right, how could I raise this child alone, without anything? I bet that all of you have someone that supports you, I had no one. I didn’t know what to do, and I am so sorry, I just need help.

Well you should never feel like no one would want you! You should have toughed it out or done it earlier! There is always something to help you get by. Your parents and that guy are horrible people. You should have never cared about money or him. At least your baby is somewhere safe and happy now. You dont have to worry about that. Just try to get by and forgive yourself. I hope you never get with that guy ever again

Well
I kinda have to agree with angie. These girls here don't need stress like that and trust me the word abortion causes stress! Espically for those here who have recently lost children..... It's sick is what it is.

Not Tryin to Start An Arguement But ..............
Fair enough choose another forum but different people have bene bought up different ways so you cant reall judge her for what she has done. What she has done may have felt right at the time so I personally dont think tellin someone t basically go away and not helping them doesnt solve matters it can just make them worse.

Hey
Rach I agree with you but I also agree with ang. Sometimes there's a place for special topics like this. Ehealth has a special place for people who have had or are thinking of abortion. She is relcome to stay here. I was just voicing my opinion. I think it's sick. No matter how you look at it. My brother's ex-girlfriend had gotten pregnant for him. At 2 months she called him.... "josh, i've had an abortion. I didn't want the baby". What did my brother do? Hung up and none of us has ever spoken to her again! I'm very anti-abortion...... For any reason except medical purposes and possibly in a rape situation, and even then..... Question

I"m not trying to be mean and i'm definently not judging her but I just don't think this is the place to talk about it. I am 23 weeks pregnant and I personaly don't want to hear about it. All i'm asking is to go to a different forum or talk over pm's. I'm sure the abortion forum can give you much better support.
