I suggest you get second and third opinions. Not that your Dr. Is wrong but incase he is missing something. And this is serious buisness. You cannot take it lightly. It will effect the rest of your life. Sonograms are not always completely accurate. I had a hyterectomy because of a very large cyst that the sonogram showed was on my ovary. I also had problems with displasia but it was not as serious as yours. After surgery they found that it was attached to my abdominal wall. I'm sure it would probably detect the fibroids though. They really can't tell some things untill they explore it in surgery. A friend had a hysterectomy because of dysplasia and when they went in they found an enormous amounts of endometrious matter in her which took an extra 3 hours to remove it all. They did not know she had it until they went in. Doctors are not perfect and neither is medical technology. I hope tje best for you and if it is carcinoma then in my opinion you should definetly have the hysterectomy. And you should deal with it as soon as possible. Just know all your options and risks and weigh them thoroughly! See my other forum posts. Post hysterectomy back pain-spinal block? thank you for the reply. I am getting a second opinion. I decided that a few days ago and cancelled my first surgery. I am going to the doctor I used to go to. I really had a good feeling about that doctor and his practice. I think I will be more comfortable there. It was a new doctor that had recommended that other options. Thank you for the prayers.

Hello, Maby you can help,doc seen large uterus with fibroids going for ct for this and biopsy for cancer.Says need ct and may need hysterectomy,how should i feel when i have pain there as well as bleeding several times a mth.

This is kind of a safety precaution for the surgeon...They did this to me too...He said that he would like to know what is going on inside me before he opened me up...They also did the bowel check up and all with me...I, too, was bleeding a tremendous amount...
