Q: Depo-provera shot : how long before it is effective ?

After you get the depropravara shot, how long before it is affective? I heard 24hrs and up to 4 weeks????

Depo-provera is a hormone injection that lasts for three months to prevent pregnancy. The first shot of depo-provera is usually given during or few days after the start of a menstrual period. After 24 hours, the shot is effective birth control for the next 13 weeks.
