I am 35, no children, with multiple benign cysts in both breasts and was diagnosed w/PCOS 1996. Lump biopsy 2004 was benign. History of bc on both sides of family (Paternal: Father’s sister was hormone-induced, no mast. Maternal: Mother’s sister had lobular requiring double mast.).

Nine months ago, I discovered a depression on the interior bottom quadrant of left breast, approx. 1 inch long, with a very defined ridge (almost like a cake after someone sneaks a fingerful of frosting). I had a regular mammo, followed by an ultrasound and then a very extensive mammo (over 15 views). Doctors determined it to be nothing of concern and started hormone therapy (Norinyl). I also cut all caffeine out of my diet.

Since then, the “ridge” has increased in length (not in width) to about 3 ½ inches long, following the curve of the breast and covering the entire interior bottom quadrant. Also, over the last two months, I’ve been experiencing occasional stabbing and shooting pain in both breasts, along with increased tenderness.

It feels to me that my breast is detaching from my chest wall. There don’t seem to be any abnormal growths but this is not normal. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Get a new doctor who will take your concerns seriously. This sounds like something you need to have looked at right away.
