Q: Spotting --- again !!

I went on the pill last summer due to spotting and crazy cycles. It took 7 months before I quit spotting and my cycles regulated. I had 3 "perfect" cycles. Now, I am back to spotting again in the middle of my pack. I'm soooo frustrated! What is happening? Is this just a hormonal imbalance? Is a higher dose pill probably the answer? What about going off the pill all together?

I started on Yaz (this did nothing for my cycles!), moved to Fem-Con 35, and I'm currently still on it. I am apprehensive about moving to a higher dose pill, but I'm willing to do whatever I need to do at this point to address the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? Any suggestions on what to do from here?

Thanks so much for your help!

My expereince with high versus low dose pills is as follows:

I was a 90 pound highschool sophomore, and I went on regular ortho tri cyclen. Nothing bad happened to me, I had no side effects.

Now, I'm 22 and weight 10 pounds more... but I'm on ortho lo. Same thing, no side effects other than nausea if I take it without any food at night right before laying down. If taken in the morning, it's fine.

People freak you out with side effects and what not, but in reality, only a minority of women expereince these; do you think the pills would still be for sale if most women were having uncontrolled moodswings and crazy bleedings and clots and everything else.

I know that lower dose pills are supposed to lessen your periods, but I don't know if higher dose pills are better at regulating them. I'd just say talk to your doc and ask which pill is the best for regulating. Though it's likely it's the pills, it could also be other things... is your weight enough to support your body? Do you get enough sleep? Do you get enough vitamins?
