I got a little upset after I talked to her because I wasn't asking for one. I was only asking when do people usually have one?? I don't know how these things work. I'm running around frantically trying to buy all the stuff for my baby and people are telling me don't worry about it someone will buy that for you when you have a baby shower. But so far, no one has said if or when they are having one. I'm not going to talk to anyone about it any more and if they ask me I'll just say I don't know. I guess I'll just keep buying the stuff I need and not think about baby showers for now.

Thanks for the info. I'm 32 weeks today!
His family all live here in town but some of my family live out of town. But they come to town quite often.
I guess I'll just leave it up to others. My mom just made me feel so bad for asking about it, like I was being really rude or something. Now I'm all feeling sorry for myself.
.Well not really, but it's my first baby and I guess I just want to do things right without offending anyone.

Im in the process of planning one for my best friend she is having twins in .August....i offered too have one for her but she knows all about it ...i figured before the babies so that she will have everything as we already know she is having a boy and a girl...her mom is going too help me out with this ....i was planning on having on for her anyway but before i could say anything she mentioned something bout maybe her sister would have one and thats when i said that i would do it ...if i was you i wouldnt feel bad for mentioning too your best friend bout having one for you... sometimes people assume someone else is going too do it and who knows she might be thrilled too have one for you like i am bout having one for mine .

I have had quite a few friend that have had multiple showers.
One for the family, alittle more reserved (in most cases)
One for co-workers, still a little reserved but they feel more comfortable in a work type setting.
And then one for your friends (normally these involve cocktails and more...adventurous...games)
But it also depends on how comfortable you are with people. I, personally, have people issues. Especially with people touching me or looking at me. (my wedding only had 25 people) So I have spoken with family and they all cam up with the same idea. For me to set up a baby registery and then (by word of mouth) have them forwarded to my house. My friends (my dhs friends) will probably still have a small get together.
It is a very personal thing. Everyone looks at it differently. I have another friend (I just found out shes pregnant) is already planning hers.
Moral of the story...be vocal. It's for you. If you want it a certain way, don't be afraid to speak up (politely) and tell people. I'm sure if you tell one of your friends that you want one with enough time to buy what you dont get. Shell get the hint.

(then people won't feel guilty about getting them for you and you can buy what you didn't already get)
