Chu's great!!!! He's a whole year old!!!!
Yesterday was his birthday and his party
is tomorrow!! I've got a lot going on.
Tuesday is my last day of work and I've
been swamped with trying to bring
everything current and plan his party.
I'll never do two such big things at one
time again.

should have plenty of free time. Yay!!!
Just in time to catch up on my Harry
Potter.

My dad and stepmom are driving into town
this afternoon, and are staying until
.Monday morning. Yay! We're planning on
having a small family barbeque on .sunday,
and today we're going shopping for my
birthday (.june 5th).
Alyvia's doing great! She has two teeth
now and my nipples feel like they're
falling off my body. She's way too tiny
according to her doctor and she needs to
gain some weight, so we've been working
overtime on trying to get her to ingest
more calories and praying like mad that
they stick to her. She's crawling like a
pro, pulling up on everything, and is
acting like she might want to try walking
soon.
Oh my .God, .harry .potter less than two
months away!

The barbecue sounds great. I'm doing one
for Chu party so i can cheat and combine
two holidays in one. That's why this
planning is driving me nuts. Do you think
Aly's too tiny or do you think she's just
a small baby. I'm curious because one of
the docs I had for Chu thought he was
skinny which gave me a complex for quite
some time. Then I talked to another one
who basically said it was just his genes
since his gains were steady. Which makes
sense when you look at both me and miguel.
i was and am horribly skinny. Now I get
viciously angry at doctors who say my baby
needs to gain weight.

Well, I think both. I know she's not going
to be a huge baby - .aaron and I are both
small. But since her 6 month appointment,
she gained less than two pounds. In fact,
we had her weighed when she had a viral
infection and she was 15 pounds 2 ounces,
and the following week at her 9 month
checkup she was 14 pounds 8 ounces (can
you say what?). Her doctor said she's
healthy but too small. If .Alyvia gets ill
and stops eating, her body will have no
reserves - and that's where the problem
lies. We have to get her to gain some
weight. But otherwise, she's totally
healthy and she's hitting all of her
milestones.
But it's given me a major
complex - you're right about that. When
other mothers ask me how old she is, I
really don't want to tell them. The look
that they give me and .Alyvia is so full
of pity... you would think I told them she
had a terminally ill disease. So many
mothers have 3 month olds that outweigh my
.Alyvia by a few pounds, and .I'm very
uncomfortable about that. And she's such a
ball of energy that .I'm paranoid she's
burning off everything she's eating.
I hate it. I absolutely hate it.

It's taken me quite some time to get over
it and I guess I'm not truly over it yet
either. I hate telling people that chu is
a year old. Invariably someone will
comment on how small he is. I had so
hoped that he would get my dad's genetics.
I mean, when he was born he was such a
doing it bruiser. Now he's short and
skinny. Last doctor's appt Chu was 2'3"
and 19 lbs. That's insane. Plus I know
how people always say I look way younger
that I am and laugh at me because I'm
skinny. I guess I'm kind of projecting my
weight (or lack thereof) issues onto him.
I'm even more defensive about his size
than I am about my own. Plus I think that
it's worse since he's a little boy.
People (or maybe it's just me and I'm
projecting again) seem to expect boys to
be taller and solid.
Hmm... reading all this I'm starting to
think that I'm the one who should get
help...
