Well, I think both. I know she's not going to be a huge baby - .aaron and I are both small. But since her 6 month appointment, she gained less than two pounds. In fact, we had her weighed when she had a viral infection and she was 15 pounds 2 ounces, and the following week at her 9 month checkup she was 14 pounds 8 ounces (can you say what?). Her doctor said she's healthy but too small. If .Alyvia gets ill and stops eating, her body will have no reserves - and that's where the problem lies. We have to get her to gain some weight. But otherwise, she's totally healthy and she's hitting all of her milestones.
But it's given me a
major complex - you're right about that. When other mothers ask me how old she is, I really don't want to tell them. The look that they give me and .Alyvia is so full of pity... you would think I told them she had a terminally ill disease. So many mothers have 3 month olds that outweigh my .Alyvia by a few pounds, and .I'm very uncomfortable about that. And she's such a ball of energy that .I'm paranoid she's burning off everything she's eating.
I hate it. I absolutely hate it.
