Q: Getting Fed Up With Dizziness

Hello,

I have recently discovered that I seem to suffer from TMJ after a series of doctors were unable to figure out why I was always dizzy, having blurry vision, and headaches. I really think the dizziness is the worst symptom, I can even live with the pain, but not this feeling of disorientation like I'm in a haze. Is there anything in particular I can do about the dizziness?

Also, does anyone else find that walking somehow makes these problems worse? Lately it seems like when I sit down, it subsides a little bit (providing I'm sitting in the right position), but as I walk around, something about the motion is causing me to get really dizzy. The only other thing that makes me that dizzy is eating, I feel it after every meal.

Thanks for the input, this condition really sucks!

Re: Getting Fed Up With Dizziness
As my TMj got worse and worse, I did start to get dizziness, when I tilted my head back mostly. Since my dentist has been working on my bite, the dizziness has gotten much better. I did notice that when the massage therapist worked on my jaw I was dizzy when I first stood up from the table. I guess it is all part of the TMJ disorder.

Hey
you may want to find a good dentist that will work with that. dizzyness is caused by pressure to the eustation tube in the ear. I went to neuromuscular and dont have that problem anymore. massage is very good for it too. keep your chin up--there is hope for all of us. let us know how you are doing. if you need help finding a good doctor let me know and ill help you.

Thanks for the replies, I am curious what exactly a neuromuscular doctor does. Is that a type of dentist, and are they common or difficult to find? I am in the New York City area, so I assume there should be some. Thanks for your help!

Hey
A neuromuscular dentist works with the muscles in conjunction to the teeth so that everything is in order and you dont have strain on the joints. etc. it really releives dizzynes and ear problems etc. Havent been dizzy since i started. You should be able to easily find one. Ill pm you a link or ill be glad to find one for you.
