Q: Unstuck Patch - Question

My girlfriend uses the birth-control patch, we had sex during this weekend and then I had to move to another town for month. However today(thursday) she told me that the patch came unstuck. The day of changing is tomorrow and the patch which should be applied tomorrow is the last one.
I read that if the patch is applied within 24 hours, there is no need to change the cycle anyhow.

So, I assume that she should apply the new patch today and have one day shorter cycle? Is there any probability of her getting pregnant because of this accident (since the weekend we haven't had sex because I am away and we are not going to have sex in the following weeks).

Thanks for replies.

She should be fine as long as it is reapplied within 24 hours. Putting on the next patch will work fine as well.

She applied a new patch, the last one. The nominal day of changing the patch is tomorrow, so I think that the she should go with the new patch until thursday next week and have the cycle one day shorter?

And again the pregnancy question: Is there any chance? We had an intercourse 5 days ago (with the patch on).

I think you have no chance of pregnancy. Her cycle will end one day sooner, and after her off week, she should make sure she only waits 7 days before putting on the new patch, which means all of her cycles will be one day faster now, but that's okay. It's safer to do that than to add an extra 8th day at the end of her off week and risk ovulation.

Another question: when should the period be expected after removing the last patch of the cycle?

You go off the patch for a week, correct?

As with any horomonal birth control, your period will start anywhere from day 1 to the last day of the off week. Yes, this may mean you get back on the patch while you're still bleeding, and that's okay. I'm on ortho-lo (a pill), and I don't get my period until day 3 or 4 of the off week. Some women start their period right away, others don't. It can even change due to your age. I was on normal ortho tri cyclen when I was 16 for a few months, and my period started on day one of the placebos. Now, as I said, I'm on day 3 or 4.
