One of my good female friends is 18. For
a year or 2 she has been having trouble
and doctors can't figure out exactly what
it is. Once or twice a month it seems
like she is getting very sick for a day.
She said she has pains from her stomach up
towards her chest and at times they are
very sharp pains and she can't lay down or
get comfortable, the only comfortable
position sometimes is to get in a ball
laying on the ground. She also complains
of having a "wet feeling" in her mouth
like she will vomit and at times she
thinks she will but rarely does. The last
time it occured it started during the
middle of the day and got worse as the day
went on and she was up until 4 in the
morning trying to sleep and couldn't get
comfortable either. The whole time she is
crying complaining that she doesn't know
what to do. I have read up on acid reflux
and it seems like this could be it but I
dont know what to tell her or how to help
her out.

It may or may not be symptoms of acid
reflux.
Acid reflux generally is helped by taking
an antacid like rolaids.
Acid reflux may be helped signifcantly by
just drinking a bottle (16 oz) of water 20
to 30 minutes prior to a meal not with the
meal though.
If the symptoms are the result of a spasm
the water before a meal, and supplementing
with magnesium may help.
It may also be she is suffering from a
food sensitivity, and that can be easily
determined by just writing down everything
she ate the days the symptoms occur. Then
compare with other days notes for the same
foods, then do a test of that food. Remedy
is simply to avoid that food in the
future.
My wife suffered similar symptoms and
found that eliminating all wheat and
gluten from her diet resolved the problems
- but it took 7 weeks to take effect.
Good luck and God bless!

Wow! How long have you been vomiting and
feeling sick? Sounds like it could be a
virus, but of course I'm no doctor. I
would definitely go to the hospital if you
haven't been able to eat in days. Losing
11 pounds in 3 days is very dangerous!!
