so joseph woke up near 9am this morning , i guess cuz he didnt feel good cuz he threw up not long after waking up, but then he acted likehe wasnt sick at all, he didnt have a fever either, so he had some juice then i was making lunch and he threw up all over the kitchen floor, so no lunch for him, still no fever so i dunno what it is, we did have fish for dinner hes has salmon before but this was something different we got at the german grocery store so im guessing maybe that didnt agree with him. he feels warm but no fever, so now he just gets water and bread , applesauce etc. Im gonna see how he is tomorow morning though and make him an appt if he is still sick, but its like he acts like totally fine mostly, then drinks anything or eats any tiny bit and hes throwing up again. This is the first time hes been throwing up sick since hes been a toddler, last time was at 8 mths old when he had rotavirus. His diapers been dry since i changed it around 9am. I feel bad cuz i dunno what to do , spent the morning cleaning puke off my floor and washing blankets etc joy. thats the only guess i can come up with is the fish last night .

poor little man! My boys have had viruses and stomach upsets before without having a temp so dont rule that out. I would have thought if the food disagreed with him , esp as it was fish he would get some kind of stomach cramps and be uncomfortable, doesnt sound like he has these by what you said.
With most stomach bugs the sickness should stop within 24-48 hours so keep an eye on him. Its a good idea to nip him to the doctors tomorrow if hes still no better.
Whenever my children are ill I make a bed for them on the sofa and just let them chill, if he wants to play than thats cool. I wouldnt worry about giving him food unless he really wants it and just keep it to drier things like toast and biscuits!

Just keep up the fluids, make him drink plenty and keep an eye to make sure hes doing wee's, if hes not get him to the doctor sooner as he might be dehydrating. Oh and my doctor told me never to give a child dairy products when they were sick because the bacteria in them can make the stomach worse!!

I know you probably knew most of this but thought it might help!! Smile heres hoping he feels better soon!

yeah, he has water and half a piece of bread earlier and ate a banana, now hes asleep on the couch, i made upa bed for him with the blankets we have left, the rest are washing since he got sick on them. Just trying to think of a bland dinner if he wants to eat that is. Hard to tell really if he has a stomach ache or not. He will be fine and happy and then be cranky and annoyed etc. He wanted juice not water earlier but nope, he eventualy focused his attention elsewhere and forgot about the juice though, maybe he has an intestinal inflamation or something i dunno, hes fine until he eats or drinks something it seems like. So waters better to flush it out. if he is still sick tonight and into the morning im gonna call the clinic to make him an appt. So far 2pm his diaper is still dry but he also hasnt been drinking anything other then the juice he threw up this morning and the milk. Maybe when jason gets home i can run up to the shoppette and get some pedialyte. I feel so bad when they are sick Sad, also give him a cool/warm bath later when jasons home to keep an eye on jordynne, i watched my show this afternoon that comes on tonight so he can have a nice bath while jasons watching it. He still feels alil warm, but he wont sit still long enough for the thermometer. I wish i had one that took temps quicker lol

if he wants juice I would try giving him a little or try diluting it with loads of water. Drinking juice has got to be better than drinking nothing.
Hopefully he will be able to keep alittle of it down. He may feel alittle brighter after a sleep. Children can easily get dehydrated when sick because they bring everything up. If hes still dry later I would take him to be checked over.

I know what you mean its horrible when they are sick!! you just feel so helpless! It doesnt get any easier either! My eldest is nearly 6 and I am still the same with him as I was when he was a baby!!

ya if he begs for jiuce later i will put like 80% water 20% juice, i think earlier was half and half, maybe try a fruit cup to eat since the banana he had earlier has done ok on his tummy. He has been a little clingy and extra whiny today.

since jasons got home josephs been blah, he didnt eat dinner , he had a few slices of orange earlier though, but jason took his temp it was 100.8 30 min after igave him tylenol so jason gave him a bath, so hopefully his temp goes down cuz if it goes up to 101 or higher then maybe time to go to the hospital.hes acting ok now after the bath though, hes sitting on my chair with me right here lol and got jordynne on my lap so surrounded by kids. if it goes down i will chck in the morning and if he still has one gonna take him to the dr.

Ah poor little man. My son has done that trick on me too - acts totally fine then vomits everywhere. I find it strange cos when I feel sick I go all hot/cold clammy, shaky and I look like poo. Kids are strange creatures... Rolling Eyes

Hope he feels better soon Wink
