My cousin had a birthday party for her daughter yesterday, and when we returned home the damn alarm was sounding. Our building is known for our frequently pulled fire alarm Rolling Eyes .
anyway, ppl said they had been waiting downstairs for like an hour.... something about the elevators not working(no big surprise there either). Keep in mind that is was after 9 and we live on the 20th floor.

question... how many of you(if you live or have lived in a building) leave the building after the fire alarm goes off?

i would leave the building..but if this is a thing happening all the time i would try to find another place to live.

if this makes any sense.....it kinda reminds me of the boy who crys wolf say u dont leave the building cause its a common thing for it to go off and and turns out there is a real fire.

I don't.
We have an entry camera, so i know if ppl are still being left in, that i don't have to rush out. Also, we have a speaker for communication between the fire marshall/superintendent and us in our appt.

If i left everytime our alarm went off, i'd spend more time in the front of my building.

I was just curious as to what you all would do...thanks Wink

I would leave.
I have never lived in place that had many many floors. I would be so terrified that the elevators would not work and I wouldn't be able to get out
I would be so mad if someone pulled the fire alarm. It's illegal here. Is it illegal in .Canada too?

It is!

the elevators get grounded once the alarm sounds. So i would have to walk down 20 flights everytime it goes off.

OI. I lived in a 7 story building on the 7th floor and the alarm used to go off at least a couple times a week. I had my cat there and she wasn't really supposed to be there and I would end up wrapping her in a blanket and carrying her down 7 flights of stairs, all the while listening to the deafening alarm and trying to keep her from totally losing it because she would be scared. I would sometimes wait and look out the window and try to see what the fire fighters were doing, usually they would just be standing there while one guy went in to shut off the alarm. That place was a pain in the ass.
