Q: Constipation after intestinal infection w/ vomiting + diarrh
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 19th, 2007
I've had this problem for about a month or two now.

It all started when I was coming back from vacation. I got sick on the plane. It literally felt like bubbles were coming and popping in my stomach. I threw up at the end.

I hadn't eaten that day, and when I went to eat, I wasn't hungry at all.

So, for about a week, when I wanted to eat, I couldn't because my stomach would make this bubbling stuff. To top that, diahrreha {spelling I know}. So on the weekend, I finally told my mom what was going on. She made me eat dry food and sip gatorade.

Then about three days later, I gradually was able to eat more. But still, loose poop.

The bubbles went away, but ever since to today, I get these weird noises in my stomach. I cannot tell whether I am hungry or full anymore, and the poop is sometimes loose.
is this because my body is changing?

According to the symptoms you report of vomiting, stomach noises, and diarrhea you probably experienced a gastro-intestinal infection, or "gastroenteritis". Now that the intestinal infection is gone, you may experience constipation. It is nothing serious. Your body is not changing beyond normal expectations.
