i feel so terrible. we'd made it over 6 months without finn ever hurting himself and i was feeling pretty good about that.

he was just sitting on the floor playing and he kind of falls forward to get on his belly, well... apparently i had him too close to the table. he went to get on his belly and smacked his head on the bottom (it's like a trunk type table). it was so loud!

the worst part is that i saw he was about to do it and i felt like i was moving in slow motion and couldn't get him in time! i swear the "oh sh*t!" came out before he'd hit his head.

i guess it sounded worse than it was (i can still hear the *whump*), he only cried for like 1 minute and then he was my smiley boy again.

poor finn... he's sleeping now. i'm going to be checking on him a million times during his nap. he had a red spot but no bump or anything, and he didn't react when i pushed around it so i'm assuming it's not even tender.

i feel so bad.

Aw .bridget. Sad

.it'll only get worse when he starts to crawl. I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but it's true. I took a bath yesterday when .aaron came home and he was in charge of watching .alyvia. I'm halfway through shaving my legs when I hear screaming in the distance, followed by an "oh sh|t" that was way too close to the bathroom.

Alyvia had followed the cat into the kitchen and was trying to follow her into the bedroom. We have two stairs that lead down into our bedroom. Well, she pretty much went down those stairs face-first. And what was .aaron doing? Messing around on his computer. He hadn't even noticed she'd crawled out of the room. Evil or Very Mad

.she has a pink line on the back of her head now, but is otherwise okay. It scared the hell out of .aaron and he got a serious telling-off from me. Some things you can't prevent, but others you definitely can. Alyvia's accident could have been prevented if he'd only been watching her like he was supposed to.

You're a good mom, .bridget! You take such good care of .finn. Try not to blame yourself, okay? Sad

Oh .Bridget, you are definitely not the worst .Mom ever! Accidents are going to happen! It happens to the best of kids, it would be different if you did not give a darn. I remember taking my son in for stitches and my daughter in for a broken arm and I felt bad too. Kids are tough, they get better! I bet you are a great .Mom! Hugs to you and .Finn!

I got one of .oni's most recent head bangs on my camera phone!! If I can figure out how to send it via internet, I would!!!! ::hint hint:: .gen!!!

We're not super heros, so we can't *always* stop the inevitable.

Although, I have accomplished many "nice saves" as on lookers would describe them!!

Finn's still young, I promise you'll make some good saves that you'll pat yourself on the back for!!

thanks everyone. i'm not feeling as guilty now.

i think he actually hit the side of the table, which is thin wood. i thought he hit the base which is thick and heavy.

he seems fine though, he's been playing and acting like his usual self. he was sleeping peacefully until i checked on him and thought he looked so sweet i needed a picture. the second the flash went off his eyes popped open and he was wide awake. poor guy, he can't win today!

it's not your fault! as long as he doesn;t sleep right after...try to keep him awake as long as possible.

my brother when christian was 3 months old elbowed him on his soft spot...i swear i screamed so loud he cried more for my scream...

i know how you feel but it's really not your fault...there are many more bruises and bumps to come..especially with our little boys!

Sarah,

do you have the option to send your pictures via message?

Pull up the picture and you should have a "menu" or an "options" type button then choose send "via pictuture message" (i need to know what type of phone you have that would greatly help) or "send in message" something like that. Then you would/should be (you have t-moble right?) able to send it to "my album" option. then you need to go to your account on line and go to "manage my album" and save it to the comp and go from there like you would as a digi cam.

you might be able to send it to your e-mail (you should have that option too.) but sometimes, like right before it got my digi cam, it stopped letting me send them to my comp. Hit me up on the cell if you need assistance...hope that helped.

silly silly bridget. you seem like a very amazing mother to me.

i think it was right after rowan turned two months old. i was at this lady's house and she was holding rowan on the couch and i was on a chair infront of the couch watching tv. rowan was asleep and the lady got up i guess to do something and put rowan on the couch on top of a folded up blanket. i thought she had rowan with her. i was cold and reached behind me and felt for the blanket and pulled it to cover myself and rowan went falling onto the floor. it is a really low couch and there were foam mats on the floor from doing work out video's earlier so i don't think she got hurt, but i think she got a fright. anyways. rowan cried for maybe a minute, not long at all. i cried for at least 20 minutes. i tell you, bridget, to me it hurt worst than if someone froze a sledge hammer and threw it at my face.

but bridget, you are not a bad mother! this wasn't your fault, please don't think that.

i think what makes me feel the worst is that i was literally 2 feet away sitting on the couch and saw it about to happen. i didn't even have to get up, i just needed to lunge forward.

live and learn.

You are an amazing mom .bridget! I do understand how this can make you feel so bad though... it's happened to me so many times. It'll happen so much more as they get older... and worse. If you're lucky to have a hyper active child as i do, you may end up being overly protective. My mom says i guard them way too much. which i do.

I watched this show for like a split second last night.... i think it's called scarred. It plays on mtv. .o.m.g!!!! The things boys do on skate boards Shocked
