Are anti-depressives causing delirium ? How to manage anger Posted: 05-17-07 02:00am
I would like to understand about
Anti-Depressive's: I was in a coma with a
2 percent chance to live for 15 days? This
was over one year ago last month. I seen
things in my coma and need to understand
what I seen and what was really going on.
Was I really dead? Was I really @ my
Funeral? Was I going to the bright light?
I got upset with my doctor after I awoke
and was out of ICU and they cut my pain
med of Morphine In the PIC in my Arm. So
I threw my food Tray @ him. So I have been
on Anti-depression every since and I want
off of them? I get so angry with people
that I was very slow to Angry and did it
in not in public like know. I am a changed
person. Am I crazy. Tired of the dry
mouth.
Thanks So much James

HIV & AIDS Answer A2793 Posted: 05-29-07 02:33am
People with severe diseases like AIDS are
susceptible to developing depression. Fear
of death is present during AIDS more
remarkably than during other diseases.
There is another, specific, problem in
case of AIDS: people with AIDS are marked
by their social environment as sinners and
people avoid them. That’s why they can
become very lonely. It is very hard to
struggle with fear of death alone, so
depression can be inevitable. The episode
that you experienced (“the coma”…)
was probably an outbreak of an
opportunistic infection. Some
opportunistic infections can affect the
brain and various psycho-organic symptoms
(delirium) are possible. You might try to
visit a support group for people with HIV
and meet others who are, most likely,
going through an experience that you can
relate to. Good luck and we wish you all
the best.
