So i was feeling rough today and really tired and sick so i ring and get told by my boss i keep letting him down. Hello!!! i'm pregnant!!! Yes i have had a few days of sick here and there but i can't help it i don't wanna make myself worse by going to work, and it's not like i'm taking the mic i'm not feeling good. It's not my fault they decided to send 2 of our staff to another shop and then try to make me feel bad 'cause i'm sick!!! Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

Sorry i had to have a rant i just can't believe them, i tell them i've been sick and i can't come in and he's like are you sure you can't we are really short staffed!! Evil or Very Mad

If they asked me if I was sure i was sick....I would go postal on someone. Then probably get fired. I'm touchy about that. They might as well be calling you a liar.

That is too bad that you have to go through that. It sucks to not feel good, but to have a friend for a boss is rough.

I'm not defending your boss, but a lot of women milk the pregnancy thing. Granted we do feel like we got run over by a truck a lot, but some women use that card for everything, and I'm sure from a bosses perspective it gets old. Plus he may not understand how you feel, or he's just a jerk. My former boss had zero tolerance when her staff called out, but she would call out for anything. Evil or Very Mad

Are you planning to return to the same place after you deliver? Your boss is probably not going to be really tolerant when you are not able to work because of a sick baby.

Good luck and I hope the next 15 weeks get easier

They probably do think i'm lying, but i was sick i've slept all afternoon and my boss was ok with me he said a few weeks ago that i can't help it if i'm ill. I think he was so funny with me 2day 'cause they were short staffed.

I know your not defending my boss mommy35, that's the thing men don't know what we go though when we are pregnant.

No i don't plan on going back well in about 4 yrs when she starts school! I don't wanna miss out on her first steps and words you know, i know it will be hard money wise but we will manage we always do. I really cant wait till she's born we are so excited. Smile
Roll on 15 weeks!!

any chance that you work in tesco because they are terrible about giving time off. Dom's neighbour had brain cancer as a child and a tumour retured recently and they refused to give him the time off for the op Shocked

yeah i know i couldn't believe it! Come on like you would lie about having brain cancer just to get a few weeks off, i think he's doing ok now but it's sick that they didn't let him have the time off because now he has no money to support himself and pay his rent whist he's recoperating

when i worked at walgreens i worked with all guy bosses but there were 2 of us preggo ladies, but i didnt call off too much but they were really understanding but at hte same time id worked there for 3 yrs too so eh. I think they assume if your showing big preggo belly u cant feel ill anymore lol. ive been puking sick at over 20 wks plenty, ive gotten sick at work and just ask to have a 15 min break to sit outside in the fresh air and they always let me. it suprised me cuz all my bosses were men lol then i switched back to my old store and they were all men except one. I got sick the day they planned a baby shower for me lmao . They were begging me to come in but i was like i seriously cant, and ifi had went and saw that cheesecake cake they had i prob woulda puked on it lmao.
