Told I Was Having My Gb Out, the Decision Has Been Changed Posted: 05-15-07 12:56pm
My story starts here: a month ago started
getting chets pains, thought it was
heartburn, went into the doctor to make
sure... he felt around my tummy area, and
wanted to order an ultrasound to be sure
everything was a ok. The results came back
that everything is ok. The nurse ( who I
know personally) still thought I was
having gb issues.... I had constant
discomfort in the ab area, mostly upper
ab, bloating, then one week I couldn't get
a deep breath, I have a hard tummy, and I
have a weird feeling in my chest area when
I wake up and move, like pressure moving
around, etc. ... so they ordered a HIDA,
it came back showing my ef rate was 24%...
she set me up for an appt. with the
surgeon. The surgeon stated that with my
syptoms being a-typical he didn't think he
should put me thru surgery, and he ordered
an endescope... which I have not had yet.
He also felt my stomach area and said
something about possibly having a cat scan
done, I told him I had an ultrasound, so
he went and checked the results online,
and he came back in and said, everything
was ok on the ultrasound. so I am awaiting
the appt. for the endescope... I am just
at my wits end trying to figure it all
out.. I am not in PAIN, just a constant
discomfort:( Any advice??? thanks all

My first question is; what did they tell
you "ef" stood for. I'm hoping not cardiac
ejection fraction! Hida scans don't reveal
that. The frustrating thing in medicine is
the abdomen. There are many reasons a
person could have your symptoms. Just
tough it out thru the tests.

Well... I am not sure what they said it
was.... they just said my gallbladder was
not functioning at the correct
percentage... they said mine was at 24%
and normal is 35% to 70%
