Q: Question About Advair

I am 25 years old and I have had asthma since I was 5. My asthma got milder as I got older. I recently saw a Pulmonary Doctor who put me on ADVAILR 250 twice a day. Since I started that medecine about 10 days ago, I haven't used my albuterol, which is unprecedented to me. I might be a little bit too paranoid, but I have 2 concerns:

1. As I was reading facts about Advair, I read that SALMUTEROL which is one of the component can lead to death. what are the chances of that happening?

2. I would like to know if one day I decide to get off ADVAIR, would my asthma be worse than it was before I started Advair?

at 25 your chances of death from solumedrol are almost zero. The incidences of death are usually in the elderly and very sick individuals. You should never quit your Advair suddenly as you could have "rebound asthma attack" this is caused from sudden stoppage of the steroid in Advair. You must wean yourself off slowly. Follow the regimen your doc has prescribed.
