I am no expert but as I understand acute means you only just got it, had the symptoms then it goes but chronic means ongoing, had it for years without many problamatic symptoms.
Symptoms are not necessarily drastic & can just seem like Flu, while others can be very ill.
It is possible to get Hep B through unprotected sex, blood, body fluid exposure or drug abuse. 50% of cases are through unprotected sex.
Many Hep B sufferers will get better however they will possibly become carriers as they haven't developed the antibodies.
As such it is best that you practice safe sex untill you know that you're not a carrier.
So in answer to you're question if you had the symptoms for a while but not been that bad it is probably chronic. If the symptoms have been quite bad but short livd then it's probably acute.
Hope all goes well & feel free to get back to me if you require any further advise.
