I am 9.4 weeks pregnant and I bought one of those home dopplers(bebe) well I haven't really been able to find the baby's h/b. Has anyone used this and was it successful?

Nine weeks is still pretty early to b able to hear a heartbeat, esp with a bebe...I heard that they arent very good, b/c they are too sensitive and pick up to much excess noise...It even says on there that a good heartbeat isnt greatley detetected till like the 26 week with that particular model....U wont here it reasonably well till about 12 to 16 weeks at least..Good luck!

They Suck!
Hey girl, I got one when I was only 9 weeks also, my doc told me I wont be able to use that and actually hear the heartbeat till I am 8/9 months. The are must be bare skined. You have to be in a very quite room, no noise it pics up everything. It really was a bad mistake for me to buy mine, I bought it in the mall as a final sale and it cost me $30 something dollars and I cant get my money back for nothing! I seen it at target the other day for $19 I was like wwhhaatt!!!!!! $19 and if you want you can exchange, eeerrrr I was angry!!! Talk to your doctor and see what they say about it. Is yours the bebe fetal heart monitor, I believe that is what mine is called. Read the packet though, they say you should record your heartbeat with it cause when you are preggy the rate is much higher. Anyways, you can record it and play it for the baby really soft and the baby will fall asleep faster. That and the fact that I will be able to record the baby's heartbeat oneday is why I am keeping mine. Good luck with yours.
Lots of love,
heather

Hate It
I used the bebe model when I was 8 and 9 months preggy and I could not find the heartbeat at all!!!!!! I would sit for hours in a quiet room and wouldn't hear anything! I even did it on bare skin and everything. My doctor told me that he doesn't recommend using them because it is very hard to detect heartbeat and it gets mothers scared! The only tad bit of hb I could hear was mine! I would try to take it back if I were you..Honestly your better off trying to use a stethescop and they are much cheaper.

That makes me so mad sara. I mean I bought it as a final sale and I can't take mine back!!! I did not know you could use a stethescope, that is cool. I will be trying that one when I am 8/9 months. Thanks sara.
Lots of love,
heather

No problem heather! The stethescope picks up less background noise unlike the freakin doppler does!

I just rented one of the dopplers and they say that you can hear the h/b as early as 10 weeks...Well thats what all of them, that you can rent, say. But I know people that used them and had success early on. So I am going to give it a try.

Just go there and click buy/rent... It's 24 dollars a month and shipping is free and you don't pay to return it either.

Yea, I got it the day before yesterday. I can't seem to find the baby's heartbeat, but I have no trouble hearing my own Evil or Very Mad ! Lol. But they say that at 12 weeks there is a 95% chance that you will hear the heartbeat and the chance is 100% after that. So I will wait a while to try again, after all I am just 10.3 weeks. But hey you can hear the placental sounds. They say that it sounds like the wind blowing through the trees and that is exactly what it sounds like. So that was pretty neat. :d
